De 8 martie am pregătit pentru mămici... pălării.
Pălăriile în sine erau confecționate din carton alb de 300 mg, decupate deja pe un anumit șablon pe care nu îl dețin. Le-am cumpărat așa de la un coleg, pe care l-am găsit pe Facebook - Sebeșan D Daniel. Nu mai rețin cât a costat o bucată, știu doar că am luat vreo 30 albe și câteva colorate, pe care le-am utilizat la orele de limba română sau la cluburile de lectură, pentru metoda Pălăriilor Gânditoare.
Cum nu am vrut să stric surpriza copiilor sau a mămicilor, am hotărât eu să desfac coletul abia în dimineața zilei de 8 martie. Ceea ce nu a fost tocmai o decizie inspirată, fiindcă durează puțin asamblarea fiecărei pălării în parte, chiar dacă explicația din tutorialul domnului care le comercializează pare simplă la prima vedere. În fine, depinde și de abilitățile motrice ale fiecăreia, iar eu nu sunt chiar cea mai îndemânatică persoană pe care o cunosc. Așadar, pentru vreo 30 de bucăți, ar fi bine să vă alocați în jur de o oră numai pentru asamblare. Altfel, în grabă, riscați să le rupeți din greșeală - cum am făcut eu, bineînțeles.
După ce am distribuit fiecărui elev câte o pălărie, ei și-au scos setul de quilling. Aici trebuie să menționez că noi lucraserăm deja de câteva săptămâni cu tehnica quilling, astfel încât copiii știau să facă diferite forme. Seturi de quilling se găsesc la librării, costă în jur de 50 - 60 RON/bucata. E bine să aibă benzi de hârtie de diferite lățimi și culori. Au lipit formele din quilling pe pălării, așa cum le-a plăcut lor. Și unde anume le-a plăcut lor. Unii au vrut să creeze flori, alții inimioare, iar alții felurite modele decorative. Eu nu am intervenit decât acolo unde eram solicitată sau, poate doar să le reamintesc cât timp mai au la dispoziție, fiindcă nu îmi permiteam să stau toată ziua pe lucrarea aceasta.
Nu am avut vreun model, nu sunt de acord cu asta. Nu cred că lucrările la Arte Vizuale și Abilități Practice trebuie să fie identice. Fiecare copil și-a folosit creativitatea. Singurele mele cerințe au fost, ca de obicei: i) să lucreze îngrijit și, evident, ii) să finalizeze lucrarea. Ceea ce au și făcut.
Copiii au fost mândri de lucrările lor și nerăbdători să le dăruiască mămicilor. De la unele dintre ele am primit și poze pe WApp cu pălăriile pe cap - au fost adorabile!
Hats for moms - An Idea for Mother's Day
For the 8th of March, the children and I have prepared... hats for moms in our class.
The hats themselves were made from 300mg white cardboard, already cut to a specific template that I don't own. I bought them that way from a colleague, whom I found on Facebook - Sebeșan D Daniel. I don't remember how much a piece costed, I only know that I bought about 30 white ones and a few colored ones, which I used in Romanian language classes or in reading clubs, for the Thinking Hats method.
As I didn't want to spoil the surprise of the children or the mothers, I decided to open the package only in the morning of March 8th. Which was not exactly an inspired decision, as it takes a bit of time to assemble each individual hat, even if the explanation in the tutorial of the gentleman who sells them seems simple at first glance. Finally, it also depends on the motor skills of each one, and I'm not exactly the most dexterous person I know. So for about 30 pieces, you'd better allow yourself around an hour for assembly alone. Otherwise, in a hurry, you risk accidentally breaking them - as I did, of course.
After I distributed a hat to each student, they took out their quilling kit. Here I must mention that we had already been working with the quilling technique for several weeks, so the children knew how to make different shapes. Quilling sets can be found at bookstores, they cost around 50 - 60 RON/piece. It is good to have strips of paper of different widths and colors. They glued the quilling shapes onto the hats as they liked. And where exactly they liked it. Some wanted to create flowers, others hearts, and others various decorative patterns. I only intervened where I was requested or, maybe just to remind them how much time they still have left, because I couldn't afford to spend all day on Arts and Crafts alone.
I didn't use a template or a stencil, I don't agree with that. I don't think the Arts and Crafts products need to be the same. Each child used their creativity. My only requirements were, as usual: i) to work neatly and obviously ii) to complete the work. Which they did.
The children were proud of their works and eager to give them to their mothers. I also received WApp pictures from some of them with their hats on - they were adorable!
